Transmetamorphosis
Transmetamorphosis Principle: You can revisit the same philosophical problem a thousand times, and it will never be the same, because neither you nor the problem are the same anymore, any time you revisit it. In this sense, we and our philosophical problems are, exist and transcend new, anew and renewingly as “transmotional travellers and transmotional horizon”, in motion as “rest and motion”, in transmotion as “neither rest nor motion”.

Murphy’ Laws of Combat
Soldiers and Armies
1. You are not Superman.
2. Professionals' are predictable, but the world is full of amateurs.
3. No combat ready unit has passed inspection.
4. No inspection ready unit has ever passed combat.
5. The side with the fanciest uniforms loses.
6 .Murphy was a grunt.
Battle
1. If you are short everything except enemy, you're in combat.
2. When both sides are convinced they are about to lose, they're both right.
Planning
1. The important things are simple.
2. The simple things are very hard.
3. No plan survives the first contact intact.
4. Perfect plans aren't.
Tactics
1. Don't look conspicuous, it draws fire.
2. Never draw fire, it makes everyone around you nervous.
3. Try to look unimportant, they may be low on ammo.
4. If the enemy is within range, so are you.
5. Anything you can do can get you shot, including doing nothing.
6. If the enemy is in range, "SO ARE YOU!!!"
7. If you can't see the enemy, he still may be able to see you.
Techniques
1. If it's stupid but works, it's not stupid.
2. When in doubt, empty the magazine.
3. Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than you.
4. If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.
5. The enemy diversion you are ignoring is the main attack.
6. The easy way is always mined.
7. When you have secured an area, don't forget to tell the enemy.
8. Teamwork is essential. It gives the enemy other' to shoot at.
9. Make it too tough for the enemy to get in, and you can't get out.
10. The only terrain that is truly controlled is the terrain upon which you're standing.
11. The easy way generally gets you killed.
12. If you take more than your fair share of objectives, you will have more than your fair share objectives to take.
13. You can win without fighting, but it's a lot tougher to do. And the enemy may not cooperate.
Casualties
1. Ammo is cheap; your life isn't.
2. It's easier to expend material in combat than to fill out the forms for Graves Registration.
Weapons
1. Always keep in mind that your weapon was made by the lowest bidder.
2. The law of the bayonet says the man with the bullet wins.
3. Tracers work both ways.
4. The best tank killer is another tank. Therefore tanks are always fighting each other... and have no time to help the infantry.
5. Armored vehicles are bullet magnets, a moving foxhole that attracts attention.
6. All five second grenades are three seconds.
7. The bursting radius of a grenade is always one foot greater than your jumping range.
8. If you can't remember, the claymore is pointed towards YOU.
9. Recoilless rifles, aren't.
Artillery and Bombing
1. Suppressive fire, won't.
2. Final protective fire doesn't.
3. Friendly fire, isn't.
4. Radios will fail as soon as you need fire support desperately.
5. Incoming fire has the right-of-way.
6. The only thing more accurate than incoming enemy fire is incoming friendly fire.
7. If you are forward of your position, artillery will fall short.
8. All-weather close support doesn't work in bad weather.
9. Precision bombing is normally accurate within plus/minus one mile.
10. Cluster bombing from B-52s and C-130s is very, very accurate. The bombs always hit the ground.
Supply
1. Murphy was a logistician.
2. Things that must be together to work, usually can't be shipped together.
3. Radios will fail as soon as you need something desperately.
4. Beer math is "2 beers x 37 men = 49 cases."
Intelligence
1. Body count math is: two guerrillas plus one portable plus two pigs=37 enemy in action.
2. The enemy side always looks stronger, especially when they are firing at you, to both sides.
3. The othersides weapons always seem to look better than you own.
4. The noisiest weapons always appear to the most powerful.

A blog entry by Chan Sung JungNot even a single mark left on my opponent's face. Even until the end, I was going for that one big shot... As if going for a takedown were a sin, I didn't even consider it.
So, that is how scary and painful it is to get knocked out. I can feel a similar pain in my heart... On the way to the hospital - as they drew my blood and performed the CT scan - I could only think one thing... That I would never fight again. All I could think about was my friend, Jun Seok. I would go learn his trade and work alongisde him, like my friends - at a regular job.
Returning to the hotel...after seeing the fans...and the smirk from George (Roop)... I went to my room and sat down with my team, where the atmosphere was much more relaxed and calm. As I continued to question my relevance in MMA... Suddenly the words of advice that Brian had offered to me at the hospital, came to mind.
Is this why I delayed going to the army? Is this why I've been competing since high school? The worst part being... Is this the best I can do? Am I only good enough to lose to a fighter who was perceived as mediocre by MMA fans?
So, I've decided to give this one more shot. But, the pride I once had for fighting 'Zombie Style' has been shattered. I'm going to change.
It's okay if you take away my Korean Zombie title. It's okay if everyone boos me. It's okay if no one in the world ever cheer for me again. For everyone who has supported me thus far, that I have let down... I make this promise to you that I will never fight with the same style, ever again.

Metropolis
If I ever understood the word hope, it was right there and then: hopeful to hear those beautiful notes again and that it never end, ever. I waited 87 seconds and there it was.
The melody returned. A memory that would last forever.

The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer
It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shrivelled and closed from fear of further pain. I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself. If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty, even when it is not pretty, every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, "Yes!"
It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up, after a night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn't interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

What constitutes a great love song?
I have yet to discover an answer to that question. But for now, at least, I am intrigue on how various Love songs unfold. How many times have you heard a Love song that has the theme of "This is how I feel about you, so, How could you not feel the same way?"
Or what about the song that goes along the lines of "You are my world and I will always shield you from all-harm!" And Of course, lets not forget the classic theme, "Baby it was a mistake. I promise I can change my ways!"
There are so many Love songs, and all of them uniquely narrate a story of Love. A style and story that caught my attention recently was the "if i told you things i did before, told you how i used to be, would you go along with someone like me?"
Now some may argue that that theme is not of Love. But entertain this thought for just a moment and ask is it? Imagine telling some one your deepest and darkest secrets, does it not require courage to open and share your world, in hope, that he/she accepts you entirely. Maybe a story of Love-- maybe not?
Nevertheless, I do know that such a story fabricates a great song so check out the track produced by Peter, Bjorn & John titled "Young Folks", and you can judge for yourself whether this song fits your definition(s). However, for those who know me well, overlook the original recording and be sure to listen to the Scumfrog remix. Maybe that is why this track captured me.
A house remix with a hypnotic bass line and heavy-pitch clap, it echoes a whistle that rings through the night and resonates the story of "someone like me."
Plus, it makes me want to dance =P
Here is a video-remix of the song, followed by the lyrics
Peter, Bjorn & John - Young Folks Feat. Victoria Bergsman (Scumfrog Remix)
Someone like me...
Someone like me...
Someone like me...
(Whistling in the background)
A boy:
if i told you things i did before
told you how i used to be
would you go along with someone like me
if you knew my story word for word
had all of my history
would you go along with someone like me
A girl:
i did before and had my share
it didn't lead nowhere
i would go along with someone like you
it doesn't matter what you did
who you were hanging with
we could stick around and see this night through
Chorus:
and we don't care about the young folks
A girl:
usually when things has gone this far
people tend to disappear
no one would surprise me unless you do
A boy:
i can tell there's something goin' on
hours seem to disappear
everyone is leaving i'm still with you
it doesn't matter what we do
where we are going to
we can stick around and see this night through
... and we don't care about the young folks

10,000 BC

The movie 10,000 BC was... well, you can watch it and decide for yourself. Otherwise, here is a paragraph from this movie:
"A good man draws a circle around himself and cares for those within: his woman; his children. Other men draw a larger circle and bring with them their brothers and sisters. But, some men have a great destiny. They must draw around themselves a circle that includes many, many more." - Tic' Tic

Out of 365 days, the best day in year 2007 was...
Those who SOMEWHAT know me would most likely describe me as:
- Ambitious
- Determined
- Relentless
- Imaginative
- Aggressive
- Notable
It would seem that the Name Analyzer on FB is precise. Yet despite this accurate description, this list is more so an indication of who I am as a "professional", not as a person; there is more than meets the eye.
Those who know me WELL know my schedule and whereabouts. I have a simple and predictable routine e.g., Work, Library, Volunteering. Pro bono you say? That's right! Volunteering is an activity that has kept me quite busy. What began in Jan. 2007 as a commitment of four hours a week is now a part-time job.
Typically, I volunteer with my peeps from Church. However on Dec. 26 of '07, a precedent was set. Three of my closest friends and a stranger arrived at Evangel Hall Mission at 5am to join me and cook a breakfast for the overnight guest. Thank God they came and helped out because, without them, I would have been fucked! The meal included 3 dozen eggs, 19 packs of bacon, 2 packs of sausages, 4 litres of oatmeal, plus cereal, muffins, juice, milk, and other assortments.
Admittedly, I mistakenly ordered way-too-much food and foolishly believed that I could solely prepare and cook all that food. However that situation never arose. As soon as my friends caught wind of my intentions, they immediately signed up. I never had to ask them for help - they knew it was too intense for one person to manage. One could say that they came to my rescue ... Hahaha and that is what friends are all about.
Friends are those who watch your 6 and instinctively protect you, because they always care for you whether you make the right or wrong choices in life. I am fortunate to have such people as friends - Dave, Huu, and Han - for they're a true reflection of who I am, rather than, instead of some Name Analyzer or mere words. After all, We are the company that we keep.
It is unfortunate that my parents did not give me a name that contains the letter G, i.e., George. If so, then the Name Analyzer would have deciphered the letter G and chosen Grateful - the word that BEST describes me.
As a tradition to our fighting camera-pose ... ISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSH!
