I have yet to discover an answer to that question. But for now, at least, I am intrigue on how various Love songs unfold. How many times have you heard a Love song that has the theme of "This is how I feel about you, so, How could you not feel the same way?"
Or what about the song that goes along the lines of "You are my world and I will always shield you from all-harm!" And Of course, lets not forget the classic theme, "Baby it was a mistake. I promise I can change my ways!"
There are so many Love songs, and all of them uniquely narrate a story of Love. A style and story that caught my attention recently was the "if i told you things i did before, told you how i used to be, would you go along with someone like me?"
Now some may argue that that theme is not of Love. But entertain this thought for just a moment and ask is it? Imagine telling some one your deepest and darkest secrets, does it not require courage to open and share your world, in hope, that he/she accepts you entirely. Maybe a story of Love-- maybe not?
Nevertheless, I do know that such a story fabricates a great song so check out the track produced by Peter, Bjorn & John titled "Young Folks", and you can judge for yourself whether this song fits your definition(s). However, for those who know me well, overlook the original recording and be sure to listen to the Scumfrog remix. Maybe that is why this track captured me.
A house remix with a hypnotic bass line and heavy-pitch clap, it echoes a whistle that rings through the night and resonates the story of "someone like me."
Plus, it makes me want to dance =P
